The Full Armor of God

Ephesians 6:10-11

10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.

11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes.

The fight with Covid-19 cannot be won without proper equipment. 

The medical staffs who work so hard cannot find enough masks to protect themselves. 

Even with the testing kit, they should refuse to test the potential patient, 

because they can be infected while they test the patient. 

So, wearing a proper protective gear is pivotal. 

It is the same for fighting the spiritual war. 

First of all, we must be aware that we are, whether we like it or not, engaged in a battle.

And that there is this enemy that is hostile against us, and against our God. 

His intention is clear, to steal from us, to destroy us, to kill us. 

Second, we must be aware of the spiritual nature of this battle, in order to fight the battle

properly. It is not about flesh and blood, it is about thoughts and ideas. 

The full armor of God is the word of God. 

We read, memorize, meditate on the word of God, and learn about

God, Jesus, and ourselves. We get to have the correct self-identity: that we are royal children of God!

That sense of royal identity becomes the full armor of God that protects us from Satan's accusation. 

Also, we have one weapon: the sword of the Spirit. It is also the word of God. 

We wear the word of God as the armor, and we wield the word of God as the weapon.
