1 Peter 4:1-2

Therefore, since Christ suffered in his body, arm yourselves also with the same attitude, because whoever suffers in the body is done with sin. 2 As a result, they do not live the rest of their earthly lives for evil human desires, but rather for the will of God.

When we get lazy, it becomes easier to sin.

Think of David, the king David.

He fell to the temptation when he didn't go out to a war.

When you don't make yourself busy, you are going to be tempted to sin.

What is sin exactly?

In Greek, it means missing the mark.

We have been created to please God, to love God, to glorify God.

When we fail to do so, when we are not focused on fulfilling that holy purpose,

we miss the mark, we sin.

We must be too busy to sin, being disciplined to please God.

When we get ourselves busy trying to please God by serving Him and His people,

we will be done with sin.

Instead of trying not to sin,

get yourselves busy by doing God's work.

Amen.
